Why the campaign continues
You might do more harm than good

I struggled to make a complaint against Celia because the church authorities kept ignoring me. Eventually they had to acknowledge the matter because my solicitor had taken over and forced them into it. The church eventually accepted my complaint and I made an official representation in accordance with their requirements.

This submission detailed the complaint extensively.

There was one item in the complaint that I was keen to remove because I had reason to suspect that my own Minister, Trevor Williams, had falsely blamed Celia for the libellous letter he wrote to the URC Synod complaining about my former concern about the fictitious Lent study books.

Williams assured me that he would not have made the complaint about me had he known the full facts - that Celia had dishonestly set up a Lent book approval on behalf of the Churches Together team of which he was the chairman.  Neither he nor the CT team knew anything about the books being circulated by Celia and they were never on offer for Lent study as she was pretending. It was concluded that this must have been a market research exercise because she was circulating and collecting comments about the books, which had been written by her friend, Tony Castle. Both books were out of print and it wasn't possible to obtain them in any case.

Diana sawyer, the complaints officer asked me to look into this and I asked for a meeting with the CT team. Williams was still on this team and Tony castle was now the chairman. Therefore, there was no chance of meeting with them. However, Williams was my representative on the team and he agreed to call the meeting on my behalf. I bet he did!

The meeting was refused. Had the meeting taken place then Williams would have been exposed and so would Tony Castle, but the important thing that I was looking for was the truth about this libellous letter. I don't think Celia set Williams up to write the letter as he claimed and I wanted to retract this part of the complaint.

However, I didn't retract it because Williams stuck to his story and blamed Celia for misleading him and causing him to write a libellous letter to the URC Synod about me. I never obtained the opinions of the other CT members because there was no meeting as I requested.

This is the letter:

With the complaint against Celia officially submitted, Celia was asked to submit a response to my complaint. Her responses are itemised below along with my comments - noting that my comments were also sent to the panel in advance of the hearing.
